How to increase satisfaction and loyalty of your team members

Satisfied employees generally have little reason to look for a new job and leave their current one. They are also productive and efficient. Employee satisfaction should therefore be one of the key objectives of every manager. Here are three tips for increasing the satisfaction, loyalty, and productivity of your team members.

Recognition of well performed work

As INC.com states, simple praise from a manager to employees is still underestimated in many teams. However, this praise should not be general. It should specifically describe a particular achievement accomplished by the employee. Once you begin recognising work that has been done well, you will see that employees feel valued and adopt a more positive attitude.

Gradual expansion of responsibilities

Most employees do not want to remain stagnant in one place and perform the same routine work repeatedly. Employees generally want to develop and work on interesting projects. This can be achieved through the gradual expansion of responsibilities. Allow subordinates to work with increasing independence so that they feel a sense of progression in their careers. At the same time, continue to discuss and evaluate everything with them on an ongoing basis to ensure that developments are aligned with their expectations.

Public recognition

Expressions of appreciation and praise should also take place publicly, not only in private conversations between a manager and an employee. Regardless of what anyone may say, we are all somewhat ego driven and appreciate having our strengths recognised publicly. Employees who have genuinely achieved something positive should receive public recognition and be presented as positive examples to others.
